2022 – Non Dilutive Funding to Establish Proof of Concept
Advertent Bio was awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant to evaluate its lead biologic in a disease‑relevant mouse model of muscle degeneration. The project was complemented by matching investments from regional venture capital funds, state innovation programs, and in‑kind support from a leading disease‑focused foundation.
2025 – Phase II SBIR-Driven Expansion
Following successful completion of the Phase I project, the company secured a Phase II SBIR award in 2025. This funding has supported pivotal preclinical studies, and early GMP development of Advertent Bio’s lead asset to support GLP-toxicity studies and clinical readiness.
2025 – Pre-seed Financing and IND Enabling Development
In parallel, Advertent Bio completed a pre‑seed financing round syndicated by regional venture partners and private investors, providing capital that facilitated laboratory expansion and key hiring, allowing the company to expand the pipeline and advance GMP manufacturing and regulatory activities. These resources position Advertent Bio to progress its lead program through IND‑enabling studies and to prepare for first‑in‑human evaluation, while continuing to build a differentiated, growth‑factor‑focused platform in muscle health.
2026 – MDA Clinical & Scientific Conference
Advertent Bio has been selected to give an oral presentation at the 2026 Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinical & Scientific Conference in Orlando, FL. The MDA is the leading U.S. nonprofit for muscular dystrophy, ALS, SMA, and other neuromuscular diseases. The conference provides Advertent Bio with an opportunity to share promising new preclinical data and connect with industry leaders and clinicians in this highly competitive forum.
2026 – SPEAK Foundation LGMD Scientific Summit
